ART PARIS ART FAIR 2021
We are glad to participate in the Art Paris Art Fair for the second time. From September 9 to 12, under the roof of the brand new Grand Palais Éphémère, meet us on booth J2 to discover new works by Saïdou Dicko, Salifou Lindou and Cristiano Mangovo!
PASSÉ, PRÉSENT, FUTUR
Climate change, the health situation and geopolitics are forcing us to rethink our future in the present time. It is through the eyes of Saïdou Dicko, Salifou Lindou and Cristiano Mangovo that our booth, under the title Passé, Présent, Futur echoes these issues and invites us to pay attention to the world and its transformation in order to build the future. The three artists change our perception of past realities and pave the way for new perspectives.
Using the same silhouettes and the same motifs, Saïdou Dicko questions time, space and identity. Transformed into shadows, his characters roam the world. Everyday objects are diverted from their primary function. Cans become seats. Extended linen becomes a studio background. The very art of Saïdou Dicko celebrates this need to reinvent what already exists. The artist documents the present and imagines the future. The shadows that spring under his hands take over all temporality. Yesterday, today and tomorrow belong to them. They are the change.

While Saïdou Dicko advocates renewal, Salifou Lindou also goes in this direction. By pointing out the inaction of political representatives, he questions the system and its sustainability. The politicians he represents wear the same suit and adopt the same attitude. Their legs and arms mingle together as if they were one and the same. Men or women, appearance seems to matter more than action. On paper, the agitation is tangible. The characters are absorbed in endless debates with studied speeches and chosen expressions.
IN THE WORLD OF THE STRONG, 2021

While Salifou Lindou denounces the passivity of governments, Cristiano Mangovo questions the position of human domination over nature that has been accepted for centuries. He deplores the Anthropocene and the consequences of human behaviour on nature. In this way, he rethinks a balanced world, where man and nature coexist in harmony. His painting adopts a restorative logic. Man takes care of nature and ensures its continuity.
Thus, Saïdou Dicko, Salifou Mangovo and Cristiano Mangovo push us to think about our societies, our way of life and our History through poetic, spontaneous and hybrid images.
