If humans and animals make one in his paintings, Cristiano Mangovo studies their relationship. In his series Humano e a Natureza, he initiates a thought about the position of domination of the human being over nature, as stated in the Bible and accepted for centuries.

God blessed them and said to them: Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.
Genesis 1:28

Cristiano Mangovo questions this power balance. If we, human beings, felt deprived of our most fundamental freedom during the period of confinement, how do these animals feel when they are locked in cages for the only sake of human desire? Why do we have the power of life or death over other species?

Cristiano Mangovo deplores the Anthropocene and the consequences of human behaviour on nature. To that extent, he rethinks a balanced world where men and nature coexist in harmony.

His painting is explosive and alive. The scattered bodies give life to new and composite beings. Cristiano Mangovo explores hybridisation by creating fantastic characters assembled from human, animal and vegetable attributes. Feet and clawed legs intermingle. Ties, sleeves, and pants dress these randomly combined limbs.

The creative artist reestablishes a harmony between man and nature. The beings arising under Cristiano Mangovo's brushes gather in a joyful and surprising chain. This festive and lively movement suggests renewal and change.

Thus, Humano e a Natureza adopts a repairing rationale. Men take care of nature and ensure its sustainability.
