Elolo Bosoka
Biography
ELOLO BOSOKA WAS BORN IN TEFLE, GHANA. HE LIVES AND WORKS BETWEEN TEFLE, ACCRA, AND KUMASI.
Elolo Bosoka graduated with a BFA and MFA from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, in 2015 and 2019 respectively. Currently pursuing a PhD at KNUST, Bosoka is a key member of blaxTARLINES KUMASI, a project space and incubator for contemporary art based at the university’s Department of Painting and Sculpture. In 2022, he was awarded the Baden Württemberg Stipendium Scholarship to study at the State Academy of Fine Art in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Bosoka is an artist-producer dedicated to poetic pathways through cultural infrastructure. His practice explores the relationships between art and everyday life, weaving connections between people, spaces, materials, and systems of exchange. Known for his luminous yet delicate installations crafted from seemingly rough and ordinary materials, he reclaims discarded objects—plastics, textiles, fishing nets, and cans—transforming them into compositions that question value, transformation and transmission within communities.
His works have been showcased in art galleries, institutions, art centers, and biennales in Accra (Ghana), Berlin (Germany) and Dakar (Senegal) through both solo and group exhibitions.
Currently undertaking a residency in Paris, the artist is preparing his first solo exhibition in France, which will be presented at AFIKARIS Gallery in April 2025.
