As the title goes, Memory is a visual representation of people's experiences of past and present, from Africa, particularly Southeast Nigeria, where coal was the first and chief export product that brought social and economic development to the people. The eyes and nose stand as a metaphor for a reminiscing human image, while the inscriptions on wood represent the people's experiences. The bound pieces of charcoal material represent the coal packaged for export.
