Overview
As part of Nou an péyi révé – Traversées de la Mangrove, presented at the Mémorial ACTe in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, Jean David Nkot brings together three works drawn from earlier bodies of work.

From 29 May to 29 August 2026, the Mémorial ACTe will present Nou an péyi révé – Traversées de la mangrove (Dreaming Our Country – Mangrove Crossings). Inspired by the trajectory of writer Maryse Condé, this group exhibition brings together the perspectives of twenty-eight contemporary artists from the Caribbean and Africa, exploring the relationships that shape the future of the Caribbean-World at a time marked by the enduring violence of colonial imaginaries.

In this polyphonic narrative, where painting, sculpture, installation and video enter into dialogue, Guadeloupe is not conceived as an isolated island but as one of the anchor points within a vast constellation of friendships, exchanges and critical reflections.
