MOUHCINE RAHAOUI: Haute nuit | ISELP
Current exhibition
Overview
Mouhcine Rahaoui is part of the group exhibition Haute nuit at the art center ISELP in Brussels, where he presents a site-specific installation in two spaces and conceived as a passage from light to darkness.
The first room, bright and white, gathers objects tied to the miner’s world — among which coal, ropes, blackened hands and baguettes. At the center, « Hôpital », a table covered with a white cloth displays dismantled elements, almost dissected: a laying bare of bodies, gestures, and tools. Beyond a curtain, a reconstructed mine immerses the viewer in darkness, where the video « Confession d’amour » unfolds: the artist’s mother’s hands kneading bread, narrating the story of a miner’s daily life.

Between clarity and obscurity, Mouhcine Rahaoui’s work brings forth an intimate memory, carried by the persistence of an inner light.
